Cup Guidelines- Refer to the 2026 Division 3 Cup Draw for the Knockout Stage found here
- A cup play overview and provisional schedule can be found here
- Home teams are reminded that it is their responsibility to fund and prepare the field of play and supply match balls through the quarterfinals
- Field fees and field set up and provision of match balls are shared between the two teams in joint semifinals at neutral venues (one net, two flags each as required)
- The officials’ fees are to be shared equally between the two teams (except in the final).
- Away teams are to change jerseys in case of a colour conflict.
- In case of a tie—except for the semi-final and final games—the result will be decided by penalty kicks. In the semi-finals and final, in case of a tie, two 15-minute halves of extra time will be played. If the game is still tied, the result will be decided by penalty kicks.
- The ICP and CAT systems are NOT in effect during Cup play.
- Unlimited subs (like League Play)
- Youth permits are allowed and these cup tie the Youth within VMSL Cup Competition
- The Division 3 Cup starts with all teams playing three Cup Group Games against randomly drawn opponents from each of the other three Division 3 Pools - this is the League Phase
- During the League Phase any games that are tied after 90 minutes will proceed to a penalty shootout. Teams will receive 3 points for a win after 90 minutes, 2 points for a shootout win, 1 point for a shootout loss, and 0 points for a loss after 90 minutes
- The Knockout Stage starts with an Elimination Round (including seven teams from Division 4) followed by a Round of 32. Winners of the Round of 32 will progress to the Round of 16 while the losers will form a Division 3 Consolation Cup Round of 16
- Any ties in points totals by teams in the Group Stage will be broken using the Cup Group Stage Point System and Tie Breakers in VMSL Rule 5.4

- The Division 3 Cup League Phase will consist of all teams playing two Preliminary Games against randomly drawn opponents. Teams cannot face another team from their league pool and cannot face the same team twice. The top two teams in each Division 3 Pool based on points per game as of the end of play on January 15 will be seeded and cannot play each other during the Preliminary Games. Home and away matches will be drawn at random. Teams are not guaranteed any home games
- During the League Phase any games that are tied after 90 minutes will proceed to a penalty shootout. Teams will receive 3 points for a win after 90 minutes, 2 points for a shootout win, 1 point for a shootout loss, and 0 points for a loss after 90 minutes
- After the League Phase, the top 16 teams will compete in a single knockout tournament for the Division 3 Cup. The remaining teams, up to the next 32 best teams, will compete in a single knockout tournament for the Division 3 Consolation Cup. If more than 48 teams enter the Division 3 Cup, any teams outside of the top 48 will be eliminated from Division 3 Cup play after the Preliminary Games
